CFNCW Awards NCCT with $3,000 Grant

NCCT has received a $3,000 grant from the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin (CFNCW) as part of the Community Foundation’s Wausau Marathon County Impact Grants. The grant will be used to support improvement projects at NCCT’s Big Cain Creek Preserve.

In 2025, NCCT received the generous donation of the Big Cain Creek Preserve, a 30-acre property in Marathon County containing a diverse forest ecosystem and a portion of a Class A trout stream. With support from the Community Foundation, NCCT will implement a series of enhancements throughout 2026, including the installation of a new kiosk, interpretive signage, and benches.

When these improvements are complete, the Preserve will offer a more welcoming and inviting experience for visitors. These improvements will increase the visibility and accessibility of the Preserve while maintaining its ecological and conservation value. The public will be able to visit the Big Cain Creek Preserve for gentle recreation, nature exploration, and a place of serenity.

The Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin’s purpose is to strengthen our region by connecting the philanthropic generosity of donors with impactful solutions that will last for generations. They inspire charitable giving to invest in a brighter community and have funded hundreds/thousands of various projects all across north central Wisconsin to strengthen and enrich the community.

Thank you to the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin for supporting conservation and the work they do to make our community a better place.
