Friends of NCCT – Upcoming Volunteer Opportunity!

Join NCCT staff for multiple upcoming invasive species workdays on Bukolt Island in Stevens Point!

We’ll be working to remove buckthorn, honeysuckle, and other trees and shrubs that are encroaching into our pollinator planting area on the Island from 10am-2pm every Wednesday and Friday through the end of February:

    • Wednesday, January 28
    • Friday, January 30
    • Wednesday, February 4
    • Friday, February 6
    • Wednesday, February 11
    • Friday, February 13
    • Wednesday, February 18
    • Friday, February 20
    • Wednesday, February 25
    • Friday, February 27

To access the Island, we’ll be crossing over the frozen ice. NCCT will be monitoring ice thickness before each event to determine whether it is safe to cross. Please RSVP to each event so we can communicate any workday changes due to unsafe conditions or inclement weather. To RSVP, contact BECKY via email at becky@ncctwi.org, or by calling NCCT’s office at 715-344-1910.

MEET/PARK: Rachick Road (aka Bukolt Ave) in Bukolt Park in Stevens Point. Follow Rachick Road/Bukolt Ave through the Park until you reach the west side of the lagoon on the north side of the Park. Look for NCCT EVENT signs. Click here for a Google Map of the meeting location. See map below!
