Mark Beilfuss Article: Would Donating a Conservation Easement Work for you?
Read this wonderful article that was written by Mark Beilfuss, a property owner that made the decision to develop a conservation easement for his land with North Central Conservancy Trust. The article describes Mark’s perspective on the conservation easement development process and why he thought it was the right choice for his property. Â
On July 10, 2019, North Central Conservancy Trust and Mark Beilfuss signed NCCT’s most recent conservation easement on his 160-acre property in the Town of Levis, Clark County. The Beilfuss easement will permanently protect a mixed hardwood forest, a large sedge meadow and smaller wetland pockets with a small stream flowing across the land. The land is managed for sustainable forestry and wildlife habitat. It borders hundreds of acres of Clark County Forest lands, thus adding to and preserving a forested corridor important for wildlife. Â
The Beilfuss easement is the second conservation easement NCCT holds in Clark County. NCCT has protected 110 acres in Clark County and over 4,300 acres in their 8-county service area.  North Central Conservancy Trust is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to conserve the natural heritage of Central Wisconsin through the protection of land.
