NCCT Featured On WJFW

Recently, NCCT was featured on WJFW for the current improvements underway at Big Cain Creek Preserve.

In 2025, NCCT received the generous donation of the Big Cain Creek Preserve property, a 30-acre property in Marathon County containing a diverse forest ecosystem and a portion of a Class 1 trout stream. With support from the Community Foundation, NCCT has begun implementing a series of enhancements, including the creation of a new trail, as well as the installation of a new kiosk, interpretive signage, and benches. Thanks to NCCT staff and dedicated volunteers, significant progress has already been made on a trail system.

When these improvements are complete, the Preserve will offer a more welcoming and inviting experience for visitors. These improvements will increase the visibility and accessibility of the Preserve while maintaining its ecological and conservation value. The public will be able to visit the Big Cain Creek Preserve for gentle recreation, nature exploration, and a place of serenity.

NCCT plans to celebrate the completion of these improvements with a ribbon cutting at the property this summer. Additional details will be announced soon.
