NCCT is Growing!

We are delighted to announce that Becky Wadleigh, NCCT’s Land Protection Specialist, is now a full-time NCCT staff member!

NCCT is so lucky to have Becky on our team, as her extensive knowledge, passion for conservation, and years of experience have made a tremendous impact on NCCT, and we are thrilled to have her expanding her role with our organization.

Take a look at Becky’s journey with NCCT, which started even before she joined our staff!

Becky has been working at NCCT since 2021, but her connection to the organization began years earlier. While earning her masters degree at UW–Stevens Point in Natural Resource Planning, Becky volunteered with NCCT as a conservation easement monitor and served as the secretary for the Properties Committee.

Becky joined NCCT’s staff in 2021 through a shared position with the Ice Age Trail Alliance (IATA), dedicating 50% of her time to each organization while working out of the NCCT office. The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin was also a partner in helping the position become established through a grant to NCCT.

As NCCT’s Outreach & Development Coordinator, Becky helped plan events and fundraisers, and increase the organization’s visibility through community outreach and social media, coordinated mailings, and many other tasks that helped advance NCCT’s mission.

In her role as the IATA’s Land Acquisition Specialist, Becky worked closely with Ice Age Trail hosts, landowners, partners, and volunteers to support conservation and the development of the Ice Age Trail with a focus on north-central Wisconsin.

During the spring of 2025, Becky transitioned into a new role at NCCT as Land Protection Specialist after Riley was hired on as the full time Outreach & Development Coordinator.

July 1st marked Becky’s first day as a full-time NCCT employee, bringing the total NCCT staff to 3 full-time employees! Becky will continue to serve as NCCT’s Land Protection Specialist, working with landowners interested in protecting their land, helping to create baseline documents for conservation easements, and caring for our nature preserves through maintenance and by leading volunteer workdays.

With the help of our loyal supporters, NCCT has been able to grow from 1.5 to three full-time employees in just one year! This is the largest staff the organization has ever had. Your support has allowed NCCT to expand our team and increase conservation efforts across Central Wisconsin.

THANK YOU!
